Promoting International Medical Cooperation: Aurora Health Intelligence Launches Clinical Training Program for Chinese Doctors at Montefiore Medical Center


In July 2023, the Talent Exchange Service Center of China's National Health Commission launched the Specialist Doctor International Training Program to encourage key medical professionals in China to undergo training and exchange at internationally renowned hospitals. Aurora Health Intelligence (AHI) is excited to introduce a clinical training program specifically for Chinese doctors at the Montefiore Medical Center in New York.


Program Objective

The program aims to arrange for young and mid-career doctors from domestic hospitals to undertake observational learning at U.S. hospitals, observing clinical practices to expand their international perspective and further drive the advancement and development of their specialties. Additionally, it promotes international cooperation in multi-disciplinary clinical and scientific research to comprehensively improve the quality and influence of medical services.


Program Content

Learning Location and Duration: Clinical observation and study at the affiliated hospitals of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center in New York, lasting 2-3 months. Departments for Visitation: Internal, surgical, obstetrics, pediatrics, and dozens of other auxiliary departments. Learning Method: Focus on clinical observation, participating in daily clinical activities such as ward rounds, patient case analysis, multi-disciplinary discussions, large lectures, academic conferences, and scientific research exchanges; an international exchange training certificate will be issued by the hospital upon completion of the observational study.

The Montefiore Health System, founded in 1884 in the Bronx, New York City, has evolved over more than 100 years into a large comprehensive medical group integrating clinical practice, teaching, and research. It includes one medical college (Albert Einstein College of Medicine) and one nursing school, with a total of 3,236 beds, 10,000 doctors, over 200 primary care and specialty centers, 16 mental health centers, 2 nursing homes, 23 school clinics, etc. In the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings, Montefiore is recognized as one of the top hospitals in the U.S. and the New York area, with specialties ranking in the top 1% nationally including cancer treatment (35th in the U.S.), cardiology and cardiac surgery (31st), endocrinology (31st), and orthopedics (46th).

Program Requirements

  1. High medical ethics, no record of malpractice.

  2. Engaged in frontline clinical work, with at least three years of continuous work in the specialty after obtaining an intermediate professional title or holding a senior title (including associate senior).

  3. Good English proficiency, able to effectively communicate and exchange professionally in English (no specific requirements for BFT, IELTS, TOEFL scores).

  4. Under 55 years of age, physically and mentally healthy, adaptable to life abroad.


Program Content

The program lasts 2-3 months, covering clinical research fees in the U.S., accommodation, basic insurance, transportation subsidy, and management fees. Not included are international round-trip airfare, meal costs, and other personal expenses.

Selection Process

First Round Offline Interview: Local hospitals may conduct a first-round offline interview to determine a shortlist of preferred candidates and a preliminary list for the second round based on English language ability.


Second Round Remote Interview: A U.S. expert panel will conduct the second-round remote interview and make the final selection based on English proficiency.
